Health and the Houseplant

Keeping toxins out of our body and our home is a good thing.  Certain houseplants can help.

Examples of toxins in the home:  benzene, toulene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, ammonia, hexane, etc.

Where do these toxins come from:  home building materials, insulation, carpets, treated wood flooring, cleaning products, paint, etc.

Who decided which houseplants were best:  NASA.  They were trying to figure out ways to keep the air clean in the space station

Here’s a partial list:   Devil’s Ivy, English Ivy, Parlour Ivy, African Violets, Christmas Cactus, Peace Lily, Mother-in-laws Tongue, Ficus, Asparagus Fern

I had to google several of them to know what they were.  I was happy to find out that I’ve got three on the list.
