    I agree. I put in our patient’s juice here at the clinic. I always add a lemon as well.

    My husband has a thyroid problem, is it still ok to give him Kale?


    • Hi Heidi. Re your comment above, first let me say as a caveat: I am not a doctor nor an expert on thyroid issues. That being said, the issue with kale (and other cruciferous veggies) is a natually occuring plant chemical that can interfere with the body’s absorption of iodine. Iodine is a necessary nutrient for proper function of the thyroid. If someone knows that their thyroid issue is due to an iodine deficiency they should probably be supplementing with iodine or eating iodine rich foods – like seaweed, kelp. Or lightly cooking their kale – which destroys that partcular plant chemical.
